Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What kind of movies do you like?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to talk about movies and ask other people about their favorite kinds of movies.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!

تم کس قسم کی فلمیں پسند کرتی ہو؟
(Tum kis qism ki filmein pasand kerti ho?)
مجھے ڈراؤنی فلمیں پسند ہیں.
(Mujhay draoni filmein pasand hain. )
Once more with the English translation.
تم کس قسم کی فلمیں پسند کرتی ہو؟
(Tum kis qism ki filmein pasand kerti ho?)
“What kind of movies do you like?”
مجھے ڈراؤنی فلمیں پسند ہیں.
(Mujhay draoni filmein pasand hain. )
“I like horror movies.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What kind of movies do you like?”
That's:
تم کس قسم کی فلمیں پسند کرتی ہو؟
(Tum kis qism ki filmein pasand kerti ho?)
Listen to it again:
تم کس قسم کی فلمیں پسند کرتی ہو؟, تم کس قسم کی فلمیں پسند کرتی ہو؟
(Tum kis qism ki filmein pasand kerti ho? , Tum kis qism ki filmein pasand kerti ho? )
This Urdu sentence translates as "You what kind of movies do like?" But it means “What kind of movies do you like?”
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
مجھے [type of movie] فلمیں پسند ہیں.
(Mujhay [type of movie] filmein pasand hain.)
This Urdu sentence translates as "I [type of movie] like." But it means "I like [type of movie] movies."
For example:
“I like horror movies.”
مجھے ڈراؤنی فلمیں پسند ہیں., مجھے ڈراؤنی فلمیں پسند ہیں.
(Mujhay draoni filmein pasand hain., Mujhay draoni filmein pasand hain.)
