INTRODUCTION
Alisha: Top 25 Urdu Questions You Need to Know - Lesson 15: "Do you have a cell phone?" in Urdu. In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Urdu learners, and then learn how to answer like a native speaker. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then, through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question "Do you have a cell phone?" In Urdu this is...
Syed: کیا آپ کے پاس ایک سیل فون ہے؟ (Kia aap kay pass aik cell phone hain?)
Alisha: The first word in the question is...
Syed: کیا (kia)
Alisha: meaning "do" in English.
Syed: (Slow) کیا (kia)
Alisha: Listen again and repeat.
Syed: کیا (kia)
{Pause}
Alisha: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is-

Alisha: This is like saying "No, I don't." in English. Let's hear it slowly.
Syed: (Slowly) نہیں، میرے پاس نہیں ہے۔ (Nahin, meray pass nahin hai.)
Alisha: And one more time at normal speed.
Syed: نہیں، میرے پاس نہیں ہے۔ (Nahin, meray pass nahin hai.)
Alisha: Now it's time for a quiz. Imagine you're visiting Pakistan and someone asks you if you have a cell phone. You have a Samsung. What would you say?
Syed: کیا آپ کے پاس ایک سیل فون ہے؟ (Kia aap kay pass aik cell phone hai?) (five seconds) جی، میرے پاس ایک سیمسنگ ہے۔ (Ji, meray pass aik Samsung hai.)
