In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question "Have you been to Islamabad?" In Urdu this is...

{pause}
(Ji, mei wahan aik baar gaya hun.)
Alisha: For more practice, replace "once" with "a couple of times."
Alisha: "a couple of times"
Alisha: Listen to the sentence again, with "a couple of times."
(Ji, mei wahan aik dou baar gaya hun.)
Alisha: Here we just replace "once" with "a couple of times." Now say "Yes, I've been there a couple of times."
{pause}
(Ji, mei wahan aik dou baar gay hun.)
Alisha: To say "no" in a simple way, just say
(Nahin, mei nahin gaya.)
Alisha: Which is like saying "No, I haven’t" in English. Let's hear it slowly.
(Nahin, mei nahin gaya.)
Alisha: And one more time at normal speed.
(Nahin, mei nahin gaya.)
Alisha: Now it's time for a quiz. Imagine you're visiting Pakistan and a stranger asks you if you have visited Islamabad. You want to answer that you’ve been there twice. What would you say?
(Kia aap Islamabad gaye hain?) (Ji, mei wahan dou baar gay hun.)
