Alisha: Top 25 Urdu Questions You Need to Know - Lesson 10: "How is it? (referring to food)" in Urdu. Alisha: The first word in the question is...
Hamza: یہ
Alisha: meaning "it" in English.
Hamza: (Slow) یہ
Alisha: Listen again and repeat.
Hamza: یہ

Alisha: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is-
Hamza: کیسا
Alisha: meaning "how"
Hamza: (Slow) کیسا
Alisha: Now repeat.
Hamza: کیسا

Alisha: Listen to the first two words of the question and repeat.
Hamza: یہ کیسا

Alisha: And after that is
Hamza: ہے
Alisha: meaning "is"

Alisha: "good"

Alisha: Listen to the phrase again, this time with "good."

Alisha: It mostly stays the same, we just replace "delicious" with "good." Now say, "It's good."

Hamza: یہ تھوڑا سا نمکین ہے۔
Alisha: Again, it’s almost the same, we just replace "good" with "a little salty." Now say, "It's a little salty."

Hamza: یہ تھوڑا سا نمکین ہے۔
Alisha: Let’s use a different phrase and replace "a little salty" with "very nice."
Hamza: بہت اچھا
Alisha: "very nice"
Hamza: (slow) بہت اچھا (regular) بہت اچھا
Alisha: Listen to the phrase again, this time with "very nice."
Hamza: یہ بہت اچھا ہے.
Alisha: It mostly stays the same, we just replace "a little salty" with "very nice." Now say, "It's very nice."

Hamza: یہ بہت اچھا ہے.
Alisha: Now it's time for a quiz. Imagine you're visiting Pakistan and someone asks for your opinion of the food. You want to say it's delicious. How would you answer?
Hamza: یہ کیسا ہے؟ (five seconds) یہ مزیدار ہے۔
Alisha: Now, you want to say it's very nice. Respond to the question.
Hamza: یہ کیسا ہے؟ (five seconds) یہ بہت اچھا ہے.
Alisha: You want to say a little salty. Answer the speaker's question.
Hamza: یہ کیسا ہے؟ (five seconds) یہ تھوڑا سا نمکین ہے۔
Alisha: You want to say that it's good. How will you respond?
Hamza: یہ کیسا ہے؟ (five seconds) یہ اچھا ہے۔
Alisha: Now you want to know what that person thinks of the meal. Ask the question.

Hamza: یہ کیسا ہے؟
